About This Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the company’s financial strategy, planning, risk management, and capital structure. This executive will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, helping scale operations, support international expansion, and guide the company through key growth milestones including fundraising, M&A, and global compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the executive team to shape and execute long-term financial strategy
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance modeling to support strategic decision-making
  • Capital Management: Secure and manage financing strategies with a focus on minimizing dilution and optimizing capital structure
  • Investor Relations: Serve as the lead financial liaison to investors, presenting growth strategy, metrics, and market opportunity
  • Risk & Compliance: Ensure financial operations align with domestic and international regulations, including tax, audit, and reporting standards
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Identify and manage M&A opportunities, from due diligence through post-close integration
  • Reporting & Systems: Improve financial reporting systems and controls; oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Operational Finance: Drive cost efficiency, optimize cash flow, and improve forecasting accuracy
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Provide oversight and strategic direction to finance, marketing, and engineering leadership

Ideal Competencies

  • 8+ years of finance experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role (CFO, VP of Finance, etc.)
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Finance); CPA or CFA preferred
  • Experience in clean energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors
  • Prior experience in fundraising, banking, or corporate finance
  • Familiarity with international finance, GAAP/IFRS compliance, and investor relations
  • Strong understanding of project finance and capital-intensive operations
  • Proven ability to scale teams and mentor high-performing finance talent
